Woman walks into her Airbnb a day after guests threw a big party. She enters the property and her worst nightmare comes true
They should ideally be banned

Like everything else, listing your property on Airbnb comes with its own set of risks. There’s always the possibility that when you enter the property after guests leave, you may find it completely trashed or missing a curtain. Or the complete opposite can happen. You may find guests left you flowers, some leftover food (untouched, of course), and, most importantly, vacated the place as it was when they first arrived.
Unfortunately, Nicole Stults wasn’t so lucky in this department. In a TikTok video, she showed the damage guests at her Airbnb property caused after leaving following a day of partying. From things left open to missing items to damaged items to machines left on, she saw everything that can be an Airbnb host’s worst nightmare.
The moment Stults entered the property, she noticed that the entrance door was left open, a huge safety risk. “It’s open, by the way. Wasn’t even locked,” Stults said as she walked into the property, expecting the worst.
Then she saw the painting, its frame the only thing left intact. “Yeah, this painting, antique, beautiful oil painting, has been completely destroyed,” Stults said before turning her attention to a marble table, which was completely broken. “This table marble has been totally cracked.”
She then entered the kitchen and saw that the oven was still on, another massive safety hazard. Then, as she moved to another room with an exit door, she saw that it was open too. “Oh my gosh, look at this. The house was just completely left open. It’s like the door’s not even shut. Are you kidding me?” Stults said before ending her short video.
“Now this is an Airbnb host that has a right to complain”
Because this topic is widely discussed online, people debate whether a host has the right to be angry given the circumstances. In Stults’ case, some people concluded she was justified in her outrage.
One person wrote, “Now this is an Airbnb host that has a right to complain about the state her guest left her house in.” Another shared a similar view, saying, “Okay… you are one of the only hosts that I legitimately feel as though you have every right to be freaking out. How disrespectful!”
A few people in the comments raged over Stults’ situation, urging her to act immediately and involve the authorities. A user said, “This feels like a police report is needed.” Another commented, “please tell me you filed a police report???? they need to be charged with vandalism and forced to repay what they damaged.”
Some people discussed the extent of the damage to Stults’ property and commented on those responsible. One person stated, “The blatant disregard to someone else’s property is mind blowing. I hope AirBnB compensates you and the renters are held accountable.” Another remarked, “Leaving a gas stove running is actually insane, someone could have died if you didn’t check on it soon enough.”
Despite witnessing the damage to Stults’ property, she remained calm throughout, prompting someone to ask what medications she was on. “Can you send me a list of your meds? Because you are way to [sic] calm about this,” one person wrote.
That said, accounts shared on social media also highlight instances where Airbnb guests have alleged that property owners wronged them. While some users have complained of being unfairly charged for items they did not explicitly request, others have claimed to have discovered cameras in their spaces. These instances show that problems can arise on both sides, and that both deserve to be heard.
