Woman goes on a 35-minute date after her match claims he’s 6 feet tall. Then he starts asking about threesomes: ‘Wanna get out of here?’

Even the clock wanted out

A first date can go wrong before two people even sit down. One New York City woman realized something was off the moment she met her match. Unfortunately, his height was only the beginning of her problems.

Meeting someone from a dating app can come with surprises. Some women have even discovered that their matches look nothing like their online photos. This woman noticed a difference immediately, but what followed made the first impression seem like the least of her concerns.

According to TikTok creator @thelifeofauds, whose video has garnered over 3.9 million views, her date lasted just 35 minutes after she arrived at a New York City bar around 7:03 p.m. Her match had claimed to be six feet tall, yet she found herself looking directly into his eyes despite standing five feet, six inches herself. She was already unimpressed, and the conversation hadn’t even started.

So much for first impressions

The woman recounted her disastrous date while deboning a chicken. She introduced the story as a segment called “talking shit while deboning a chicken.”

Her match had repeatedly texted her for updates after she mentioned running a few minutes late. When they met, he didn’t open the bar’s door for her and went straight to choosing a table.

Things became uncomfortable when he took her phone to look at the QR code menu. He picked something from it before closing her phone without asking.

Their conversation wasn’t much better. After learning that he had moved from San Diego to New York, she asked what had brought him there. He mentioned his ex-wife but became evasive when she asked about the marriage.

He also joked about having 99 children before making a sexual remark about how much sperm he produced. At that point, the woman had already decided there wouldn’t be a second date.

The conversation soon took a more personal turn. Much like women who have faced unexpected questions about their sexual history, she found herself discussing subjects she hadn’t anticipated.

“So you had a threesome before?” he allegedly asked without warning.

When she tried changing the subject, he pressed further, asking whether she’d ever been with women. After she explained that she hadn’t, he reportedly responded, “We’re gonna have to change that for you if we’re gonna work out here.”

She couldn’t understand why he believed the date had any chance of progressing. The situation grew more awkward when their drinks arrived. Her match had ordered a vanilla vodka cocktail, which he reportedly described as “the gayest drink I’ve ever seen.”

Shortly afterward, he asked, “So you want to get out of here?” The woman certainly wanted to leave, but not with him. “Yeah, I wanna get out of here and go home,” she recalled thinking.

When the server offered another round, she requested the check instead. She deliberately paid her share because she didn’t want him assuming that buying her drink meant they would leave together.

However, her match apparently had a different idea. Outside the bar, he attempted to grab her hand and suggested they walk in the rain to their next destination. “My next spot will be going home,” she told him.

He seemed surprised. Even after she gave him a brief goodbye hug, he reportedly tried pulling her closer. She eventually headed toward the subway, hoping he wasn’t following her.

Viewers were stunned that she had stayed as long as she did. “That date was 27 minutes too long,” one commenter wrote.

Another reacted to the phone incident, writing, “He takes my phone- OH ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!”

Others focused on her decision to finish the date despite knowing she wanted to leave. “we must normalize, standing g up and leaving,” one person commented.

That response captured an important part of her experience. She knew early on that she wasn’t interested, yet continued the conversation, finished her drink, and tried to make a polite exit. Her match, meanwhile, kept suggesting that their evening should continue.
