The Wait for ‘Euphoria’ Season 3 Is Almost Over

Euphoria Season 3 just dropped a brand new trailer, and the internet is eagerly awaiting the new season. HBO teased the new batch of episodes for April 12.
There’s been a massive time jump for Zendaya’s Rue and all of her friends. They’re not in high school anymore in Euphoria Season 3. The new trailer goes to great lengths to show off what Sam Levinson has planned for these young adults after the long layover since Season 2. If you’ve been online at all, you know that fans have been waiting for this day for literal years now.
Rue is hiding out in Mexico during the new clip. Martha Kelly’s Laurie comes back into the picture though, and the past won’t remain buried. Cassie and Nate are back, scheduled to be married, and both unhappy in their own ways. (Sydney Sweeney and Jacob Elordi coming back for this show is just as much of a miracle as Zendaya.) Euphoria Knows how to do a reintroduction, if this new clip is anything to go by.
Hunter Schaeffer’s Jules looms over the trailer with reduced screen time. She should factor in heavily. Maddie’s in the Hollywood machine and Lexi is a showrunner’s assistant. But, these old friends can’t stay out of each other’s orbit. And, Euphoria Is simply better off for it.
When does Euphoria Season 3 premiere?
HBO has made it clear that April 12th will see Rue and all her friends back in the picture for a Euphoria Season 3. The new episodes premiere at 9PM ET/PT on HBO and will stream on HBO Max. Director Sam Levinson is back in the saddle along with Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schaefer, Alexa Demi, Maude Apatow, and newcomer Sharon Stone.
Why is the new Euphoria trailer exciting?

The series has been gone for four years and, as a result, feels like a vestige of a previous era of TV. Note that Levinson is filming this season of the HBO hit on 35mm Kodak Motion Picture Film Stock. So, when you look at that glossy new trailer, that’s indicative of what the final product will probably look like as well. Interestingly enough, season three is also the first narrative television series to shoot a lot of it in 65 MM? This choice reflects how the kids are really leaving the nest of high school and into a scarier, more dangerous world.
But, really Euphoria Season three feels like an event because it’s been away long enough for there to be some slight nostalgia among the fan base. We go through nostalgia cycles faster than ever on social media. Euphoria, in particular, feels like one of those shows that would have absolutely crushed in the heyday of Tumblr. And now, the Tiktok generation will get their own live reaction cycle for an HBO prestige project aimed squarely at them.
