Hunter Schafer would be a perfect Princess Zelda, actually
There are some actors that when you look at them, you know exactly who they should play. It is how fan casts are born and sometimes they work out. That’s what I hope happens with Hunter Schafer potentially playing Princess Zelda.
A live-action take on The Legend of Zelda is rumored to be happening and word on the street is that Hunter Schafer is being eyed to play the role. When you look at Schafer and see her compared to a picture of Zelda, it is literally perfect casting. Famous for her role as Jules in the HBO series Euphoria, Schafer has continued to prove herself as an actress in films like Cuckoo.
We’d have to see who the adventurous Link would be to Schafer’s Zelda but honestly, this feels like a slam dunk casting to me. She’s talented, beautiful, and would be perfect for the part. That’s that.
Those transphobic individuals with hate in their heart online have been reacting negatively to the idea but for every transphobe hating on the concept, there is a sea of supportive fans rooting for Schafer to get the role. Personally, I think she’d be perfect for it.
“Imagine being so bigoted you can’t see this as the most perfect casting for Princess Zelda just because you’re a tr*nsphobe,” one user commented on the idea and even shared an image of Schafer and Zelda together. “She looks the part more than anyone I can think of,” another wrote.
And Schafer herself is down to play Zelda! Back in 2022, she talked about the role when a fan edit put the Hunger Games star in the role. Schafer told Entertainment Tonight that she was a big fan of the series and that she’d be excited to play Zelda. “That would be so cool,” she said at the time. “I played that video game a bunch when I was a kid. That’s such a good game.”
Schafer went on to say that she was just honored that fans thought she’d be a great pick for Zelda. “I’ve seen another wave of the fan cast and everything, which is just really sweet,” Schafer said. “I’m honored that they even think of me for that.”
Hunter Schafer would be absolutely perfect casting for Princess Zelda and that’s that!
