Amy Poehler, Bradley Cooper, Paul Rudd & More To Reunite In Wet Hot American Summer Netflix Series

How!

Wet Hot American Summer was both a commercial and a critical flop when it first came out, but it has since been embraced as the gem of an undeniably weird movie that it is. It helps that almost every one of its stars went on to become mega-famous for other things that people loved. Now all those mega-famous people are coming back for a Wet Hot American Summer Netflix series.

If you’re looking for my personal take, here were my emotions upon hearing the news:

Apparently filming has already started on the eight-episode limited series. The details, via Deadline:

[The members of the ensemble returning include] Elizabeth Banks, H. Jon Benjamin, Michael Ian Black, Bradley Cooper, Judah Friedlander, Janeane Garofalo, Nina Hellman, Ken Marino, Zak Orth, David Hyde Pierce, Joe LoTruglio, Christopher Meloni, A.D. Miles, Marguerite Moreau, Amy Poehler, Paul Rudd, Marisa Ryan, Molly Shannon, Michael Showalter and Kevin Sussman.

David Wain and Michael Showalter, who wrote the original, are writing the series as well, with Wain also directing.

Hoooooooooow. How did they do this? You hear of scheduling nightmares with nailing down even one or two major stars, let alone all of these people. It helps that Parks and Rec‘s wrapped filming,  but…how. And they were all such wee babies (read: relatively young adults) the first time around.

All I know is that this thing’s gonna get real weird, and I’m real ready.

Now I’m gonna go fondle some sweaters. I mean — finish the taters…
