Official Synopsis For The Walking Dead‘s Season Five Released
It's a great day!... for being sad.
We’ve seen the promotional images and the Comic-Con trailers, but come October 12th, we’ll finally get to catch up with our favorite zombie apocalypse family in The Walking Dead‘s season 5—and spoiler alert, they’re not going to get eaten by Terminus! Probably mostly, we think. The rest of the newly released plot description is pretty vague.
Season Four of The Walking Dead ended with Rick and the group outgunned, outnumbered, and trapped in a train car awaiting a grim fate. Season Five picks up shortly thereafter. What follows is a story that weaves the true motives of the people of Terminus with the hopeful prospect of a cure in Washington, D.C., the fate of the group’s lost comrades, as well as new locales, new conflicts, and new obstacles in keeping the group together and staying alive. Stories will break apart and intersect. The characters will find love and hate. Peace and conflict. Contentment and terror. And, in the quest to find a permanent, safe place to call home, one question will haunt them… After all they’ve seen, all they’ve done, all they’ve sacrificed, lost, and held onto no matter what the cost… Who do they become?
Comic fans have pointed out that this seems pretty similar to the issue 55-60 story arc, which also saw the team following Eugene Porter to D.C. for a cure. Obviously the original comics and the television show have differed wildly from one another, but a return to some sort of linear plot certainly bodes well for the series as a whole. Plus, I get to make fun of Doctor Mullet some more! Huzzah!
