Trump posts AI-generated clips portraying himself as a Tiger Tamer and ‘the king of the jungle’

This week, the whole world was shaken by footage shared across social media showing a man being mauled to death by a tiger at Yorkshire Wildlife Park in England after he entered its enclosure. On Thursday, President Donald Trump, seemingly referring to the incident, shared an AI-generated video on social media that has sparked a lot of discussion.

In the first few seconds of the video, as the AI-generated tiger approaches AI-generated Trump, he raises his finger, mimicking the action of Williams Chapman (the victim) in the videos. While Trump’s conduct during this period is a bit restrained, it soon changes as he playfully chases the tiger, then tackles it, lifts it slightly, and gives it a sideways embrace. As this happens, the song “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” by The Tonkens plays in the background.

In another video he uploaded to Truth Social, which compiled his videos and those of Democratic leaders, the voiceover referred to him as a lion, the “king of the jungle.” Then, as the clip cut to Democratic leaders such as former president Barack Obama, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and California Governor Gavin Newsom, the voiceover says, “jackals, hyenas…barking at him, laughing at him.”

The video then continues, showing clips of Joe Biden, Trump, and Melania Trump, as well as lions chasing other animals. It also occasionally shows clips of Trump giving speeches. One of his speeches seems to play towards the end of the video, in which he says, “Whether we are black, or brown, or white, we all bleed the same red blood of patriots.” The video ends with the narration, “Every once in a while the lion has to show the jackals who he is.”

Chapman’s parents have urged people to not share his videos on social media

According to a Forbes article, shortly after Trump posted AI-generated videos of the tiger attack, Chapman’s parents urged people not to share footage of the incident on social media. In a statement to multiple outlets, the family reportedly said, “The publication and circulation of deeply offensive media content is causing them severe distress at an exceptionally vulnerable time. We ask people to stop doing this.”

This is not the first time Trump has faced criticism for sharing AI-generated content on his social media. Notably, in April, he came under fire after sharing an AI-generated image that appeared to depict him as Jesus. Following bipartisan outrage, Trump eventually deleted the image.
