‘Trump is President of the Liars and Gaslighting Club’: Rep. Jim McGovern just bulldozed Trump’s reputation in the most iconic way

United States Representative Jim McGovern is making some valid points about United States President Donald Trump. During a debate opposing the Trump administration’s rampant abuse of power and their inability to take necessary steps for the well-being of Americans, McGovern’s topic of discussion was primarily focused on Healthcare.
On December 18, 2025, Jim McGovern went all guns blazing on Donald Trump and his band of Republican brothers by presenting one healthcare-related claim after another, all of which were true. McGovern highlighted that Trump and the Republicans have been misleading the public about having a “plan” to replace Obamacare (a.k.a Affordable Care Act) over the years, failing to fulfil their promises. By quoting Trump over the past seven years regarding his commitments to deliver a healthcare plan, McGovern noted that Trump is all talk and no action.
Since 2016, he has been discussing a plan, but every time he has set a deadline for its delivery, ranging somewhere between 2 weeks and 2 months, he has consistently failed to deliver. Even now, he continues to criticise the Obama and Biden administrations for their alleged neglect of America, asserting that their actions have created pressures on Americans seeking medical care, and that he could do a better job. However, after seven years, the public has yet to see even a glimpse of that healthcare plan. At this point, the plan seems like a ghost; everyone talks about it, everyone knows it exists, but no one has actually seen it. I am aware that Republicans and MAGA often lean on conspiracy theories, so is this “healthcare plan” merely a conspiracy? A figment of imagination? Honestly, it could be.
Nonetheless, here are a few excerpts from Jim McGovern’s speech on Wednesday, where he thoroughly dismantled Donald Trump and his fascist regime. These also happen to be my favourite parts from McGovern’s speech. He remarked while addressing Trump’s false promises on Healthcare:
“December 8, 2024, he said, you know, we have concepts of a plan that will be much better. You’ll see it very soon. Produced nothing. In May of 2025, at a White House event, he says, so we’re going to be maybe coming up with something, I think this gives the Republicans a chance to actually do a health care that’s much better than Obamacare. Nothing. People are sick and tired of the empty rhetoric. They’re sick and tired of you saying you have a plan, and you never produce one. All you want to do is undermine health care for hardworking average Americans.”
Representative Jim McGovern’s sharp criticisms of Donald Trump have sparked a significant following online, particularly on social media platforms, where people are discussing his statements and largely agreeing with them, aside from a few MAGA supporters who will always back Trump.
