Florida teen’s TikTok stunt ends in roadside horror after he filmed himself cutting his hair in the middle of the road

A Florida teen’s attempt to film a TikTok stunt went horribly wrong after he was allegedly struck by a pickup truck while getting his hair cut in the middle of a busy road. The teen was rushed to the hospital after being clipped by the truck, which was involved in another accident on the road.

The unidentified 18-year-old reportedly set up a chair on the median in the middle of the road to film the late-night stunt on Sunday. According to The New York Post, he was accompanied by two other men aged 19 and 20.

Local police said that the group had set up shop just outside the shopping plaza in Ocala, Florida to film their dangerous viral stunt. The teen had been seated in the chair, getting his hair cut, around 8:10 p.m. when a 3500 Chevy Silverado and a Lexus SUV collided on the road nearby. The collision resulted in the pickup being sent straight into the median and into the young man sitting in the chair.

The group of teens was knocked to the ground

The other haircutters described the moment the collision happened. They described hearing the tires screeching before they were knocked down by the vehicle. “We were chillin’ right there, and I was givin’ my boy a haircut,” one of the men told witness Yaj Lerom, who filmed the interaction and posted it to Instagram. “Next thing you know, I’m on the ground. We’re pancakes and flapjacks, flying.”

Lerom also called for a restriction on viral stunts such as the one the teens were filming on account of how dangerous they are. “My thing was, young kids, something needs to be done,” he told WKMG. “These accounts that are doing that need to be banned. They shouldn’t even be seeing these videos.”

Lerom also claimed that such stunts had become more frequent in recent years. He also condemned the group, saying, “The likes ain’t worth your life.”

While the TikTok stunt may have seemed foolish, the two other, uninjured, men said that they had originally planned to set up their makeshift barbershop in the lanes of traffic but ultimately decided that was too dangerous and opted to film the video in the median instead. Unfortunately for them, what they did was still very dangerous, and the outcome speaks for itself.

Ocala Police spokesperson Jeff Walczak advised anyone else against trying a similar stunt, saying, “We would never advise this.” As for the teen who was struck, he was taken to hospital in a serious condition.
