Family commercials for Star Wars that use “I am your father” in a cheesy way are my new favorite genre of commercial. This Toys “R” Us ad shows a dad who really loves the movies, and wants his daughter to love them as much as he does. However, it doesn’t seem like she’s that into it, beyond a bit of intrigue and it’s like “dude, stop pushing your interests on your daughter!”
Actually, once they enter a store she starts wielding the new Sith lightsaber it’s very sweet to see how happy the father is that the two can share a love of Star Wars. It definitely captures how exciting it is for the younger generation to get to experience the hype and release of new Star Wars, as well as the fun of sharing something with your nerdy parents.
