One woman is afraid of having an unnecessary C-section after an uncomfortable conversation with her husband. On TikTok, @thespicyalien captured a conversation with the father of her children. The man argued that giving birth naturally is “technically cheating.” She was in disbelief at his reasoning for supporting an elective C-section.
In the video, you can hear the man argue that, “They should have just been cut out, and then never have touched your vagina.” The poster quickly countered with “I would rather not die though.” Some comments agree with her assessment. Multiple replies can’t resist joking about “How do I file for divorce on behalf of someone else?”
Her husband says that choosing to give birth naturally isn’t her choice. He explained, “ That’s not your choice. I make the decisions in this house? So the fact that you somehow slipped under the radar and pooped a baby out?” @thespicyalien had a lot to say to that allegation aside from the framing of the act of childbirth.
She immediately wanted clarification on the babies in question. “Your sons?” she asked. “You’re talking about your sons?” The husband quickly joked, “They don’t even look like me.” After that moment, she became even more visibly frustrated by the conversation. Her husband had more opinions about childbirth, and the debate dragged on.
Natural births are usually more safe than C-sections
The woman’s main point aligns with a medical opinion cited by the American Medical Association. Their website clearly states, “While cesarean delivery can be lifesaving for both mother and baby, it is a major surgery and may carry more risk and a longer recovery than vaginal birth.”
Information like that helps explain why @thespicyalien might not have chosen a C-section. She says why in the video. The poster explains, “I don’t wanna die by going into a C-section that wasn’t completely necessary.”
There is still a chance for serious complications or death during the procedure. Thanks to modern medical advancements, doctors continue to improve C-section patient outcomes. This woman’s husband had other concerns take priority. He thinks his preferences should have played a bigger role in those decisions.
“They’ve touched more of your vagina than I have. It’s insane,” he shared. Then when his wife tried to point out that the procedure could be traumatic for both mother and baby, he dropped his final rebuttal. The man argued, “Deal with it! Just like you deal with all your other stupid emotions once a month.” The argument rages on because of this TikTok. Hopefully, the couple’s debate will calmly resolve itself. One commenter captured the tone of the replies. They wrote, “If this isn’t a joke, run girl !!!! Run – why you even arguing with him – pack silently and leave.”
