Things We Saw Today: 103-Year-Old BAMF Celebrates her Birthday, Wonder Woman Style


  • Well, this is inspiring! Here’s 103-year-old Mary Cotter celebrating her birthday at the Montclair Senior Center in Montclair, California. Mary has been volunteering at the senior center serving drinks for 25 years, and drove herself from home to the Center for the festivities. Happy Birthday, Amazon! (via Comic Book Resources)

  • Harper Voyager has an open call for submissions, starting on November 2nd and lasting until November 6th! Here are some details to keep in mind if you’re considering submitting:

While we’re always on the lookout for full-length fantasy, science fiction, and horror, we’re really in the market right now for Urban Fantasy and Military Sci-Fi. And be sure to check back throughout the year—we’ll be doing other calls for different genres as well!

Keep in mind we are looking for full length manuscripts between 60,000 and 90,000 words. The submission window closes on November 6th so get your manuscripts ready!
