Berlin pulled back the curtain on the wildest coworker dynamic she has ever witnessed in a viral TikTok video amassing 18,500 views. The story begins with an absurd hiring favor involving adult swinger invitations. Then enters full-sized bongs by the condiment station and a legendary firing match in the company group chat.
The informal boundaries of entry-level food service environments often produce bizarre authority clashes. Berlin’s story is a classic example of that clash. Bringing in workers based on personal social favors destroys professional boundaries from day one. And the end to it is always predictably chaotic.
An eccentric coworker landed a subway shift through unusual circumstances
Opening up about her first-ever job at Subway, Berlin introduced viewers to an eccentric 23-year-old coworker she dubbed “Bo.”According to Berlin, Bo didn’t land the role through a traditional interview process. Instead, her female boss allegedly hired him because she was “actively on her hands and knees begging” his parents to attend one of her personal swinger parties.
Berlin confessed she was far too young and naïve to understand what a swinger party was at the time. That’s your cue to Google it in case you don’t know it either. Moving on, Bo joined her at work, and Berlin claimed he looked much younger than his age. She also admitted he brought an astonishingly reckless energy to the restaurant floor.
Per her account, Bo routinely carried a massive glass bong straight into the store. He reportedly stashed the piece right beside the sandwich sauce squeeze bottles and lit it up during their shared shifts. “He would bring his full-on bong to work. Like, big ol’ bong. And he would put it by the sauces. And… every time we were working together, he would just crank that.”
The smoke reportedly became so overwhelming that Berlin only noticed the pungent scent when returning from taking out the kitchen trash. This left her astonished that customers had been inhaling the haze for an entire hour and still tipped good.
A wage dispute sparked an instant camera-trap termination for Bo
The chaotic balance collapsed one day when the owner dropped an unwelcome payroll update in the staff group chat. She allegedly announced that all employee paychecks would be delayed by a full week due to an administrative software overhaul. While Berlin accepted the setback, Bo refused to let it slide.
According to Berlin, Bo promptly dropped a legal screenshot into the chat, pointing out that withholding scheduled paychecks violated labor laws.
