He’s been teasing us for months: secret writer-y meetings with Mark Protosevich, quotes circulating that may or may not be hinting at space zombies “a new direction.” You know, the usual. And he’s still at it. After the presentation for The Adventures of Tintin, Steven Spielberg announced that the fourth installment in the Jurassic Park franchise may be up and running sometime in “the next two to three years.”

Now, all who follow Hollywood’s ups and downs know that all of this is far from a done deal until a release date is set (and even then), but STILL.

As potential director Joe Johnston said in a recent interview:

We are in discussions about ‘Jurassic Park 4.’ The most important thing I can tell you is that it starts a new trilogy that will go off in a different direction — a completely different direction that is very exciting, and different from anything we’ve seen.” Johnston continued by saying that, “It starts with the history of the first trilogy, but it spins it off in a completely different direction. That’s all I can tell you.”

Spielberg assures fans that the film already has a script treatment and an assigned writer. So it seems all we can really do at this point is hope and wait. Oh, and rewatch this video.
