In preparation for the show’s premiere and panel at San Diego Comic-Con on the 24th, Disney has released an extended trailer for Star Wars Rebels that gives more insight into what to expect from the animated series. Rebels is set in the two decades between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, and will premiere on The Disney Channel and Disney XD in the fall.
I originally wrote the show off as a blatant attempt by Disney to create merchandising opportunities, but some clips in this new trailer definitely have me intrigued–it looks like Rebels will have some ass-kicking female characters, and if nothing else it boasts the voice acting talents of Billy Dee Williams and Harry Potter‘s Jason Isaacs. Lando and Malfoy? Be still my heart!
