New York City hairstylist accidentally threw a $400 wig away. He allegedly refused to pay up: ‘That gave mad, arrogant vibes’
He may have lost a loyal customer.

Internet personality Azul Melt (@azulmelt1) from the Bronx, New York City, lost her blue wig. She accused her hair stylist of throwing the wig away and not compensating her for it.
“What would you do if your hair stylist threw away your $400 wig?” Azul asked TikTok. She wanted to book an appointment with her hairstylist for the end of the month. Azul explained that she had a flight to catch and hoped to book him on the 26th.
“Mind you, I’m his brand ambassador,” she claimed. Her hairstylist refused, allegedly claiming that he didn’t work on the 26th. Nevertheless, he agreed to do her hair that day, provided she paid an extra $50. Azul felt mixed about the arrangement, believing that as a brand ambassador, she shouldn’t have to pay an extra fee just for him to do her hair on a day off. Regardless, she agreed and told him she wanted to use a wig she’d left in his studio. Azul claimed she left it in the hairstylist’s studio three months ago.
She said her stylist knew about the wig she left behind and understood she would come back to use it. Azul said she also customizes wigs, so she told the stylist to have it ready for pickup. He allegedly texted back, saying he just needed to find the wig before he could get it ready.
Then, later on, he allegedly messaged, “Hey love, please don’t tear my head off. I’m so sorry, but I realized I accidentally tossed your wig.” He claimed he did a deep clean and accidentally threw it out. Unlike another woman who was upset after her friend threw out the Lululemon shoes she promised to give her, Azul spoke with her stylist and asked for compensation instead.
He couldn’t replace the wig and couldn’t give her anything in ot in exchange
“Who throws a $400 wig out? Who does that?” Azul was frustrated. However, she claimed that she didn’t argue with the stylist, since she still needed her hair done. Via message, the stylist agreed to waive the extra $50 fee. When Azul asked for a free installation to compensate for the lost wig, he initially refused.
She told him he was only compensating her $50, which covers only a quarter of the value of the item he lost. Azul continued, “I go on and sleep on it because I’m already stressed out.” However, she still found it hard to believe her wig had suddenly gone missing.
“With all due respect, I don’t get my s*** from Amazon. I get my s*** from vendors. I be on WhatsApp,” Azul said. She asserted that her wigs are high quality and that her hair stylist knows that. Azul added that she wasn’t asking for money but still wanted to renegotiate her compensation. Since she was only being charged about a hundred per installation, Azul wanted at least her next three installations free. Based on the messages, the stylist allegedly agreed to only one free service and to waive the $50 day-off fee as accountability.
“How the f*** are you taking accountability when there’s still $400 unaccounted for?” Regardless, Azul said she would still have to pay for her upcoming appointment. When her stylist refused to give her more free services to match the amount lost, Azul got even more upset. “That gave mad, arrogant vibes,” Azul commented, frustrated by her hairstylist’s response. Unlike this woman, who decided to experiment with a luxury hairstylist from Chicago and left disappointed, Azul said she’d been working with her stylist for over a year.
“Bro, I’ve gotten you quality clients. Right now, you just collabed with the biggest content creators in the Bronx because of me. She came to me,” she alleged. Still, they did not settle, and he allegedly replied that he was “not in a position to reimburse” her for the wig. Azul hasn’t posted an update regarding her wig woes.
