Wherefore Art Thou, Skywalker? William Shakespeare’s Star Wars Book Trailer Released [Video]
Coming July 2013 to bookshelves across the galaxy -- except Alderaan.
Star Wars is an epic tale of good and evil, complex familial relationships, and the occasional comedy monologue by a foppish servile companion. Without the lightsabers and spaceships, it almost sounds kind of Shakespearean, doesn’t it? That’s what Quirk Books figured, and this trailer for their soon-to-be-released William Shakespeare’s Star Wars does a pretty good job of convincing us that an iambic pentameter retelling of the classic sci-fi film would work more than perfectly. Personally, all I needed to see was Darth Vader in an Elizabethan ruff to get me completely on board with this premise.
