Samuel L. Jackson Challenged Celebs to Confront Racialized Police Violence

Calling it out.

Mr. Samuel L. Jackson took to Facebook today to express that he would like all the celebrities out there who participated in the Ice Bucket Challenge to sing “We Ain’t Gonna Stop ‘Til People Are Free,” a song inspired by the killing of Eric Garner.

The lyrics, reportedly by Darlene McCoy:

I can hear my neighbor cryin’ ‘I can’t breathe’ / Now I’m in the struggle and I can’t leave / Callin’ out the violence of the racist police / We ain’t gonna stop, till people are free / We ain’t gonna stop, till people are free

Here’s to hoping some of his celebrity peers actually respond.
