Ron Perlman Joins Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Cast

The cast for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them seems to expand every week, and now with the addition of Ron Perlman, it’s swelled even larger. While there are no plot details, The Hollywood Reporter’s sources claim that Perlman will be playing a goblin. Just a really tall one, probably.

As it stands right now, the cast of Fantastic Beasts includes Colin Farrell, Alison SudolEddie RedmayneJon Voight, Gemma Chan, and Carmen Ejogo. Right up until the last two, the production had come under fire for its lack of diversity. The “white as default” issue is prevalent here in that it seems a lot of characters that exist in the Harry Potter universe are often just assumed to be white unless otherwise described.

Perlman’s addition doesn’t do a whole lot to improve that ratio, but he’s a fantastic actor, and obviously someone who’s used to working under heavy amounts of makeup.

What do you think, folks? Would Perlman make a good (possible) goblin?
