Every Ripley cosplayer knows the hardest part of the costume to perfect: the sneakers. In Aliens, Sigourney Weaver wore a fantastic pair of shin-high red and white Reeboks, but Reebok doesn’t make them anymore … until today! A month ago, Reebok announced that they’d re-release the “Alien Stompers” in honor of Alien Day, which is today.
If you’re like me, you checked the Reebok website as soon as you got up, and then got confused because the sneakers aren’t there yet. Well, be patient, because they’re going to appear there within minutes. The launch will happen at 9:00 AM PST, or 12:00 PM (Noon) EST, or 5:00 PM UK.
These sneakers will definitely be pricey, at $174.99 per pair. You’ll have to make a decision quickly because there are only 426 limited edition pairs available of the high-top version that Sigourney Weaver is wearing in the photo above. There will also be 1,986 pairs of the mid-cut version of the shoe, which were worn by the character Bishop.
If you live in the US, that number of available pairs will get even lower, because those numbers refer to worldwide pairs available. In the US, there will only be 36 pairs available:

So, uh … get ready for these sneakers to go online within the next hour or so, then instantly sell out, then become super-expensive collectors’ items on eBay. Sigh.
UPDATE at 12:30 PM EST: The official Reebok store has put up the high-top version of the sneakers, but not the mid-cut sneakers as yet. Unfortunately for those of us with smaller feet, the high-top sneakers are only available in men’s sizes 8-12. As of this update, sizes 8 and 12 have already sold out in the US region, with sizes 9-11 remaining. We’ve reached out to Reebok to inquire as to whether more sizes or more pairs will become available in the future, specifically smaller sizes.
