Wow, Rand Paul Found a Way To Try To Make Ketanji Brown Jackson’s SCOTUS Confirmation About Him

Rand Paul looks testy inside the Captiol building

The Senate voted Thursday to confirm Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court, but not before Rand Paul, the insufferable Republican senator from Kentucky, wasted everyone’s time, making us wait for him to even show up.

By about 2 pm Eastern, the vote had all but concluded and stood at 53–46. With 100 senators, that meant someone didn’t vote. That turned out to be Paul, who was absent for unknown reasons. Rather than close the vote, everyone waited for about 20 minutes for him to show up and cast his pointless “no” vote that didn’t even come close to having an impact on the final tally.

We don’t know why Paul was late but absolutely no one is giving him the benefit of the doubt that the reason could have been valid.

It’s always a good day when everyone comes out to collectively dunk on Rand Paul. This is a man who has spent recent years developing a bizarre and disturbing obsession with Dr. Anthony Fauci, a man who used Donald Trump’s impeachment trial to try to doxx a whistleblower, who tried to subpoena “antifa” after lying about being attacked by a “crazed mob” outside of the Republican National Convention,” and, well, I could go on for a while.

The point is Rand Paul loves drama and he loves making things about himself. I don’t know why today’s historic confirmation hearing would have been any different.
