It’s Wednesday, which means … NEW COMIC BOOK DAY! What are you planning to pick up today? If you’re at a loss, let us be your guide. Welcome to Pull Wisely, in which yours truly, Teresa Jusino, and Jessica Lachenal choose ten comics that we plan to pick up today.
This week’s top ten list is super heavy on Marvel Comics, with many of our favorite super-heroic heavy-hitters making an appearance. We’ve got the second issue of the much-loved new Black Panther series out this week, plus some Gwen-ventures with Spider-Gwen and Gwenpool. Meanwhile, the Punisher kicks off with a new #1 issue, thanks to Netflix’s Daredevil series shoving him back into the limelight.
In non-Marvel picks, we’ve got The Wicked + The Divine, Image Comics’ music-meets-mythology mash-up. Batting for DC Comics, we’ve got Supergirl: Cosmic Adventures in the Eighth Grade, a throwback to Kara’s adventures in junior high (and also an IRL throwback, since this series first came out in 2009). Other than those two, though, it’s all Marvel back-to-back.
