Orlando Black Woman Sees Restaurant Staff Staring at Her for 10 Mins, Then Welcomed Another Guest Immediately: ‘This Place Is Racist’
Being seen and feeling seen can be two very different things
A restaurant reservation usually means you expect to be acknowledged when you arrive. Waiting is normal, but being left standing while employees allegedly look directly at you can raise questions.
That becomes harder to ignore when someone else walks in and gets immediate attention. At that point, the issue may not be the wait, but why one person was left waiting.
TikTok creator @pricelessmisfit claims that happened to her while visiting an Italian restaurant in Orlando, Florida. She says restaurant staff ignored her for around 10 minutes, then immediately greeted a white woman who walked in after her.
The Wait Wasn’t the Only Thing She Noticed
According to the creator, the restaurant was not packed when she arrived, and the customer ahead of her was seated immediately. But after she walked inside, she claims no employee approached her for at least 10 minutes. “Every person who was there, who worked there was looking directly at me,” she recalls in the clip.
What happened next changed how she viewed the wait. The TikToker alleges that a white woman entered while she was still standing there, and restaurant staff immediately approached the new customer to seat her. “They didn’t say anything to me,” she says.
The woman eventually left without dining there. Once outside, she began recording the restaurant for a review of her experience. Her video shows the storefront before a man comes outside and approaches her while she continues filming.
In the caption, the creator claims the restaurant’s owner came outside and threatened to call the police on her for saying negative things about the business. As the man approaches, she can be heard responding, “You can call the police if you want to. That’s fine.”
She then explains what led her to leave in the first place. “We stood there for about 10 minutes and as soon as another person got here, they acknowledged them immediately,” she says. Based on that experience, she tells viewers, “This place is racist. I will not return and I would hope that no one else does either.”
The experience also touches on a question that has come up in other complaints from Black diners about restaurant rules being applied differently. Here, viewers focused heavily on the contrast between the TikToker’s alleged wait and how quickly the next customer was greeted.
“The fact he came right out when he saw you, proves you are telling the truth!” one commenter wrote after watching the interaction outside. Someone else reacted, “Dang, he walked out all aggressive!” A third viewer believed his approach was meant to intimidate her, writing, “He walked out trying to intimidate you.”
The video also reached people who identified themselves as Orlando residents. “I’m in Orlando so it’s reaching the right ppl,” one person wrote. Another added, “Thanks for the update. I live here too and will def avoid Danino’s.”
Some commenters went further and claimed they contacted the restaurant themselves after seeing the video. One wrote, “I just called them back to back 10 times he mad asf.” Another claimed, “I called and said you’re racist! lmaooo he said ‘again omg.’” Those accounts come from commenters and cannot independently establish what happened at the restaurant.
For the creator, however, the wait itself was only part of the problem. What stood out was how quickly another customer was allegedly acknowledged after she had spent around 10 minutes waiting for the same attention.
