Apparently all the harsh reviews and criticisms surrounding Fantastic Four have taken their toll on Fox; they’ve pulled Fantastic Four 2 from their schedule. There’s no word yet on whether this is a straight up cancellation or if it’s getting pulled to be rescheduled. I’m hoping it’s the latter, as a significant redesign and later release may do the franchise some good.

According to ComicBook.com, the movie was originally scheduled for June 9th, 2017. This is just two weeks before DC releases Wonder Woman, so if the sequel ended up suffering from the same problems as the first movie, then Fox would’ve seen a significant loss at the box office.

It’s tough to see people lash out so brutally at the film, but everyone has a point. The movie, as well as the franchise, need a lot of work… and perhaps less studio interference, if Josh Trank is to be believed.

Only time will tell what will happen to the fearless foursome. Here’s hoping they get a better shot at establishing themselves, eh?
