Nevada Man Allegedly Snaps After Learning His Girlfriend Was Still Seeing Her Ex Who Was Allegedly ‘Better in Bed’. Then Police Find 3 People Dead

A 29-year-old Nevada man is currently behind bars facing multiple murder charges after allegedly killing his girlfriend and her two young children inside their Las Vegas apartment. According to the Daily Mail, Juan Orona has been accused of taking the lives of 41-year-old Nohany Flores-Osuna, her 16-year-old daughter Maiya, and her seven-year-old son Noah.
The incident, which took place on September 1, 2026, has left the local community reeling as investigators piece together the timeline of what led to this violent outcome. According to an arrest report, the situation escalated after Orona confronted Flores-Osuna regarding her whereabouts. Orona reportedly noticed her vehicle parked near the car of her ex-boyfriend, which prompted the confrontation.
During this exchange, Flores-Osuna allegedly admitted that she was still engaging in sexual relations with her former partner. The report states that she told Orona that her ex was better in bed than him.
The girlfriend Nohany’s comment may have been the catalyst for the events that followed
Orona told investigators that he blacked out after the conversation. He claimed that when he regained consciousness, he was holding his Glock 9mm handgun and the bodies of his girlfriend and her two children were scattered throughout the residence.
When authorities questioned him about his role in the deaths, Orona did not deny pulling the trigger, though he maintained that he could not remember the specific details of how the shooting unfolded. He noted that he remembered his girlfriend and the kids shouting at him during the encounter, but he could not provide further information to police.
Following the incident, Orona called 911 to report that he had shot his girlfriend and her two children and expressed a desire to turn himself in. He subsequently drove to a local police substation to surrender to officers. When police arrived at the apartment in the 5100 block of O’Bannon Drive, they discovered the three victims with apparent gunshot wounds.
All three were pronounced dead at the scene. Orona was also found to be suffering from a gunshot wound to his stomach, though authorities have not yet clarified how he sustained that injury. He was transported to a hospital for treatment before being booked into the Clark County Detention Center.
A number of charges have been filed against Orona
Orona now faces three counts of murder with a deadly weapon, along with multiple charges for firing a weapon inside an occupied structure. He made his first appearance in court last week and remains in custody with another appearance scheduled for later this week.
The tragedy has had a profound impact on those who knew the victims. Conrado De Leon, the father of 16-year-old Maiya, spoke with reporters from his home in Mexico. He expressed his immense grief, stating, “I’m devastated. I still can’t believe it. I’m shut down. I’m blocked off.”
De Leon remembered his daughter as a bright and cheerful person who radiated light. He emphasized that he had remained a constant presence in her life, visiting her during every school vacation and holiday. De Leon expressed his desire for Orona to receive the maximum possible sentence, noting that there is no justification for such an act.
“My daughter didn’t deserve it. She’s a child; there’s no forgiveness for this. No matter how you look at it, there’s no justification because you realize that this person really didn’t love [Osuna’s] children, my daughter. To do that to them, that’s hatred.”
The academic community has also paid tribute to the young victims
Futuro Academy Charter School, where seven-year-old Noah was a student, issued a statement praising his character. The school described him as a wonderful student whose progress was inspiring. They highlighted his warmth, kindness, and determination, noting that he will be dearly missed by his peers and teachers.
Residents of the Madison West Apartment Complex, where the shooting occurred, have expressed their own shock at the violence. According to KTNV, Margie Benak, a long-term resident of the complex, recalled seeing police and emergency vehicles flooding the area on the night of the incident. She noted that the presence of bloodstains outside the apartment door left the neighborhood feeling shaken.
“We knew something bad had happened,” Benak said. “Police cars, fire departments, other vehicles speeding down our street. Just so hard to believe that children can be involved and lose their lives over adult problems.” She added that it is difficult to process how someone could reach a point where they would commit such an act.
As the legal process moves forward, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department continues to investigate the case. They have encouraged anyone with additional information related to the incident to contact their Homicide Section. For now, the case serves as a grim reminder of how quickly domestic tensions can spiral into irreversible tragedy, leaving families and communities to grapple with the aftermath of senseless violence.
