Wolverine

Mondo’s Wolverine Figurine From ‘X-Men: The Animated Series’ Is as Perfect as a Juicy Turkey Leg

Let's go, bub!

With news of X-Men: The Animated Series returning in 2023, my excitement levels about picking up where “previously on X-Men” left off have been pretty high. I’m not the only one. During SDCC 2021, Mondo released an exclusive Wolverine figure to depict a certain scene so infamous that it’s become a meme. While the figure of Wolverine sitting in bed with a frowny face about Cyclops and Jean is no longer available, you can get a beautifully detailed version of him where he’s not moping around. This Wolverine has moved on—with both of them, apparently, according to what folks have told me about the comics. Good for you, bub!

A perfect recreation of the animated series character

Wolverine

It’s the blue and yellow-clad mutant that you know and love, bub. X-Men: The Animated Series‘ Wolverine comes complete with four swappable heads, retracted and extended claws, lightning claw energy effect, a glossy photo of Cyclops and Jean Grey, which can be swapped out with a photo of your choosing as well, and, of course, a turkey leg.

The details

The folks over at Mondo sent me one of these figures. I was immediately a fan of art style and how Wolverine looks like he stepped right out of my 90s TV set. X-Men: The Animated Series was my first major introduction of the characters, so it holds a special place in my heart as being the thing that brought these iconic characters into my life.

I’m usually not the type to keep a figure in the box, but the box, in this case, is so cool! The box is covered with never-before-seen storyboards from the animated series that include sketches and notes from specific scenes. What’s nice is that you can open the front of the box to show off Wolverine without hurting the packaging, so you can decide to leave Wolverine in the box or take him out and arrange him how you see fit.

The figure is 11.5 inches tall and comes with a variety of accessories. From multiple heads, hands, and little nods to the series like the infamous picture and turkey leg, it’s a fantastic addition to an X-Men fan’s collection. Here’s the list of what the figure comes with:

  • Neutral Masked Head
  • Angry Masked Head
  • Logan Unmasked Head
  • Morph Head
  • Picture Frame with Scott and Jean Photo.
  • Thanksgiving Turkey Leg
  • Claw Energy with hands
  • Interchangeable claws
  • 7 interchangeable hands: 2 fists, 2 neutral hands, 1 c-grip, 1 c’mere hand, 1 picture frame hand
  • Figure Stand

You can order the figure right over here.
