It has all the makings of a Pixar movie. Tillie and Phoebe were two lost dogs walking out in the woods in Washington state, when Phoebe fell into a cistern and got trapped!
So, what did Tillie do? What any quality BFF would do – she ran to get help every day, then returned to Phoebe to keep her company and stand guard over her. They were out there for a week, until finally, Tillie attracted the attention of a kind human who realized that the dog kept coming out and going back into the woods repeatedly. The kind human called Vashon Island Pet Protectors, an animal rescue organization that’d been aiding in the search for the dogs, and the dogs were found.
And you all will be happy to know that, other than hunger, both dogs were fine health-wise after the incident, and they were treated to a hamburger dinner when they were rescued.
I hope Tillie gets treats every day for the rest of her life.
