Woman finishes her acupuncture appointment and goes home. Then she realizes what is still in her neck 10 hours later: ‘am I going to cease to exist?’
The worst game of find the needle in the haystack.

Natalia (@thenataliaverse on TikTok) shared a sequence of videos on TikTok detailing an unfortunate acupuncture experience that left her feeling unwell and afraid that something could be seriously wrong as a result. After her appointment, Natalia discovered there was still a needle in the back of her neck, and at that point, it would’ve been in her neck for 10 hours.
In the first video of the series, Natalia holds up the needle for the camera with “Just found a needle in my neck from my acupuncture appt over 10 hours ago. Pulled it out, and now I feel nauseated and low-key like I’ve been beaten with a bat. Am I going to cease to exist? Do I need to go to the ER?” written on the screen.
Commenters chimed in with a mix of reactions, but many of them encouraged Natalia to message the acupuncturist and consider getting checked out by a doctor, especially if she notices additional symptoms.
Natalia decided to go to the ER
In a second video, Natalia gave an update that she recorded while appearing to be at the hospital, saying she decided to go to the emergency room as she began feeling worse. The text on this video reads, “Ok, so I started shaking and sweating, and feeling like I’m going to throw up and cry, and slight tingling in my hands and legs cyclically, and feeling typical anxiety symptoms physically, but completely calm mentally.”
According to Natalia, the nurse and doctor basically thought her symptoms were from the anxiety of seeing the needle, and they gave her Benadryl. Natalia claimed that she felt they were being condescending towards her and responded to comments telling her to get a second opinion by saying that she planned to do so the next day.
In the last video, Natalia claims that the acupuncturist told her to hydrate but hasn’t called her yet. However, her doctor gave her a prescription that’s meant to help her more than the Benadryl prescribed by the ER staff. Along with her update, Natalia commented on how her situation turned into a conversation about women not feeling heard by the healthcare system.
It’s best to be cautious with your health
Natalia made a comment that even if she didn’t feel completely heard at the ER, she still had documentation that she felt something was wrong. It doesn’t take needles to send somebody to the ER unexpectedly either, which one woman discovered when she went after drinking an Alani Nu recently, and another woman discovered when a visit to a nail salon left her with sepsis.
