Man became obsessed with the NHS worker who cared for him. Then she allegedly received a job-sabotage campaign, ultimatums, and six messages a day

A court case is currently underway at Isleworth Crown Court regarding an NHS worker who allegedly became the target of an obsessive stalking campaign. According to the Daily Mail, Leon Khan, 40, has been accused of fixating on Sylwia Anczakowska after she provided him with care at St. Bernard’s Hospital in Southall, West London. The situation highlights how quickly a patient interaction can spiral into harassment when boundaries are ignored.
The connection between the two began while Ms. Anczakowska was working as a health care facilitator on the Derby ward. She is believed to have maintained a strictly professional demeanor throughout their time in the hospital. When Khan was moved to a different part of the facility, she made no further attempts to engage with him.
This lack of contact appears to have triggered a negative reaction from Khan. Jurors heard that he sent her a bizarre message on Facebook asking, “Am I a d—head?” This was the first sign that things were moving in a concerning direction.
Sylwia immediately made her boundaries known
After she blocked him and reported the interaction to her superiors, Ms. Anczakowska was moved to a different role that did not involve patient contact. Despite these safety measures, the behavior did not stop.
Over a 20-month period, Khan allegedly sent her approximately 50 emails and 17 different songs. He also attempted to give her a Harrods gift card while in the hospital, which she refused. The prosecution argues that he used this gift card as a lever to try and control her, even after she made it clear that she was not interested in any personal association.
The situation worsened significantly after Khan was discharged from the hospital in September 2025. Ms. Anczakowska began receiving emails from various accounts with names like Freedom 2025, Leon Lacey, and Switch 123. Even after she contacted the police, the harassment continued. She was receiving up to six messages a day, often containing MP3 files. He even issued an ultimatum in February demanding that she meet him, which she ignored.
The intensity of the campaign reached a new level on Valentine’s Day
By the time Valentine’s Day rolled around, Ms. Anczakowska had left the hospital and started a new job at a car dealership called Car Planet in Enfield. Khan allegedly made repeated calls to the dealership in a blatant attempt to get her fired. He spoke with her boss, Asif Hussain, and made some truly alarming threats. According to the court, Khan told Mr. Hussain that he would “send guys around” and “a package” and that the car dealership would “be no more.”
These threats clearly had an impact on the workplace environment. Mr. Hussain reported feeling fearful due to the nature of the calls. Khan went further by accusing Ms. Anczakowska stole from him and claimed she was involved with a criminal gang.
Miles Trigg, who is prosecuting the case, stated, “It is perfectly clear in making these claims and through these many calls he was trying to get her sacked from her job.” It is hard to imagine the stress this must have caused her as she tried to move on with her professional life. The prosecution’s case is centered on the idea that Khan’s actions were a sustained course of conduct that fits the legal definition of stalking.

Mr. Trigg explained to the jury, “It seems clear from what he has said in the emails that he believed he loved her and that she, him.” This disconnect between reality and his perception of the situation is what drove the persistent contact. The prosecution maintains that this behavior caused the victim a severe amount of alarm and distress.
Khan was eventually arrested on February 17. He is currently facing charges for stalking, which involves serious alarm or distress, for the period between June 1, 2024 and February 15, 2026. He has entered a plea of not guilty to these charges. The trial is currently ongoing, and jurors will continue to weigh the evidence presented regarding these events.
It is a reminder of the importance of maintaining professional boundaries and the serious consequences that can follow when those boundaries are violated in such a persistent and aggressive manner.
