Lyft passenger allegedly pins wrong drop-off location, then launches racist tirade at driver over his own mistake
He denied making the alleged mistake.

Accidentally pinning the wrong location when booking a rideshare can happen from time to time, but it’s never an excuse to take out your frustration on the driver, who is simply following the app’s directions. A Lyft driver shared her experience dropping off a passenger at a location in Idaho, only for the man to erupt into a racist outburst and pin the alleged drop-off mistake on the unsuspecting driver.
The incident was shared in a video by Cultura Inmigrante (@cultura_inmigrante), which has since gained more than 2.6 million views on TikTok. According to the video, the incident happened near Eagle, Idaho, when a Hispanic Lyft driver dropped off the man at his pin’s location. However, when the man supposedly realized that he was at the wrong place, he turned around to confront the driver.
“You’re a f****** Mexican piece of s***,” the unnamed man told the driver while giving her the middle finger. “You’re supposed to take me to Eagle.”
Lyft passenger was allegedly unruly during the ride
The driver seemed confused by the man’s outburst and explained that she had dropped him off at the location he entered, urging him to double-check the Lyft app. The man, however, denied making the mistake and continued his vitriol. “You’re f****** wrong. […] You’re a f****** Hispanic piece of s***. Like every one of you are,” the man told the driver.
The driver claimed the man was drunk and had been unruly throughout the ride, pushing and hitting her seat while hurling insults and making racist remarks. The driver began recording the incident, capturing the moment he got out of the vehicle.
As the man continued his tirade, the driver said she began to feel unsafe and decided to call 911. She stayed on the line with the operator while waiting for authorities to arrive and kept recording the incident to provide evidence for her report.
What happened after wasn’t clear
It remains unclear what exactly happened when authorities arrived or how far the man’s intended location was from where he was dropped off, but this isn’t the first case of alleged racism against the Hispanic community. A man in Illinois reportedly threatened to call the police on Hispanic workers after allegedly refusing to pay for the service they provided.
Commenters were left disgusted by the man’s behavior after realizing the confrontation was supposedly because of a mistake he made. Many commenters asked for the man’s identity, saying, “How disgusting!!! We need to find this guy ASAP!” Another chimed in, saying, “I truly can’t understand how people can have this type of hate.”
Some commenters couldn’t help but notice that the man immediately assumed the driver was Mexican—despite there being 20 countries in Latin America. “Most gringos think that everyone who speaks Spanish is Mexican,” a commenter said. One tried looking at the bright side of the situation, saying, “They hate us cause they ain’t us.”
Others felt that the viral video would negatively affect his career. “He’s about to lose his job. Boy bye,” a commenter wrote. The comment isn’t far-fetched, as there have been cases in the past where an employee was sacked by their employer after a video that featured them gained traction online. Nevertheless, this incident is yet another example of hate directed toward the Hispanic community.
