For the unaware, Avatar: The Last Airbender is a legitimately great show. And when it was announced that a new series called Avatar: The Legend of Korra would be a direct sequel to the original, there was (quite understandably) a lot of excitement. Though for fans, anything to get the sour taste of the live action adaptation out of their mouths would have been welcome. Now, the first 80 seconds of the first episode have been leaked online.

What do you get in 80 seconds? Sadly, no much that wasn’t already known. The intro sequence has been revised, showing silhouettes of benders from each elemental form. Afterward is a brief set up for the series, told from the perspective of Aang’s son. Then there’s the briefest of brief glimpses of the actual show, which seems to open as the first series did: On a frozen wasteland. Really, it only whets the appetite.

This has been a long time coming, but what’s worse is that we’ll still have to wait until next fall before we’ll actually see the show. Of course, if there are any more leaks…
