Krysten Ritter Teaching Stephen Colbert How to Knit Is the Wholesome Content You Need Today

Krysten Ritter went on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in a shiny, futuristic runway couture dress where she then proceeded to talk about her love of knitting and a bad-ass Jessica Jones clip.

There is a lot happening in this 7:41 minute clip, and not just because the two have to multitask between chatting and knitting. The actress, in passing, says she might’ve killed the show’s prop guy? Apparently, fans always really want her to punch or arm-wrestle them? Also, she’s incredibly excited about getting on the cover of Vogue Knitting. Multitudes.

When asked whether there was any blowback regarding the decision to have Jessica Jones directed entirely by women for its second season, Ritter responded:

“Not that I have heard of, but I think they went in wanting to hire maybe 50% women—and as the interview process went along they ended up with more and more—and I think just got to a point where organically they were like, ‘Wow, we’re going to end up with a 13 female directors.'”

While Ritter is really excited about the women directing Jessica Jones, it should be pointed out that her point that it’s “never been done before” isn’t quite accurate. Ava DuVernay’s Queen Sugar on the Oprah Winfrey Network made a huge leap in 2016 when it announced its all-female directorial team. Nevertheless, it’s the first time for Marvel TV—which definitely needs more women behind the camera—and a definite landmark moment.

Jessica Jones season 2 airs March 8th. Are you excited?
