Watch Ken Jeong Have the Only Acceptable Reaction To Rudy Giuliani’s ‘Masked Singer’ Reveal

Back in February, Deadline reported that one of the contestants on this season of Fox’s bizarre reality show The Masked Singer would be Rudy Giuliani. Giuliani is a former New York mayor and Donald Trump’s personal lawyer, and he’s one of the people at the forefront of Trump’s baseless, treasonous efforts to overturn the legitimate election of Joe Biden. Giuliani is still actively working to falsely convince Americans that the election was “rigged” and “stolen” by Democrats. This isn’t a thing in the past, he was literally on Steve Bannon’s podcast talking about the election yesterday (as well as numerous other times between February and now.)

When the news of his appearance on the Fox (which is a separate entity from Fox News but I guess not separate enough) reality show broke, it was reported that judges Ken Jeong (Community) and Robin Thicke (that horrible “Blurred Lines” song) walked off the set. The episode finally aired last night, meaning we now have video of the moment. Jeong, who looks disgusted, audibly says “I’m done” and leaves. Co-hosts Jenny McCarthy and Nicole Scherzinger appear to be thrilled to be a part of Giuliani’s unearned and unasked-for image rehabilitation campaign, and cheer and dance while Giuliani sings “Bad To the Bone.”

Here’s a longer clip that includes Scherzinger asking “Is that Robert Duvall?” after the unmasking and Jeong dryly, disgustedly replying, “No, that’s not Robert Duvall.”

On The Masked Singer, clues are given as to what celebrity is underneath the costume. This season, contestants were divided into three groups: The Good, The Bad, and The Cuddly (guess which Giuliani is in), and there were reportedly unusually few clues offered for the “Jack in the Box,” leading fans who knew of the leak prior to the season’s start to guess this was Giuliani.

Here are the clues that were given, according to EW:

  • His first clue package is a commercial for a drive-thru wedding chapel
  • “Hey folks, old Jack in the Box here. Feeling romantic? Feeling impulsive? Me too!”
  • Says even though he’s a baddie, “I love love and I just love officiating weddings!”
  • He’s done it over “200 times”
  • He says they welcome “all partners,” even goodies and baddies
  • Teases “two weddings for the price of one” as their “prime package” — now accepting “crypto and PayPal” for payments
  • A red convertible, a sign showing the four seasons, a gavel, an Irish football, two ring pops, a red “Just Married” wagon, and a NASA shuttle all appear in the first package

Giuliani has performed over 200 weddings, mostly during his time as mayor, but it’s not exactly what he’s known for these days. I guess references to voting machines and literal coups would be too obvious.

The only good clue on that entire list is the reference to four seasons, as we all remember the most hilarious thing that happened during Trump’s presidency: when Rudy Giuliani clearly meant to schedule a press conference at a Four Seasons hotel and instead ended up outside of a business called Four Seasons Total Landscaping, and just had to pretend like that’s what he intended all along.
