John Krasinski hasn’t hung up his skinny Jim tie yet

The Office is a beloved classic that is still a show fans rewatch. And now with The Paper coming out, everyone is on high alert. Many want to know who from the original American series will make an appearance on the new Peacock series.

The Paper stars Domhnall Gleeson and Sabrina Impacciatore. But Gleeson already has a Dunder Mifflin connection: Jim Halpert. Gleeson recently starred in Fountain of Youth for Apple TV+ with John Krasinski and, naturally, a lot of the press for the film has been fans asking Krasinski about how he feels about the show.

And it is important to note that Krasinski has not said “no” to returning as Jim. On the contrary, he seems extremely excited about the show. “I’m excited to see what they do with it. It’s such an amazing idea,” he told Extra. “Listen, if Greg [Daniels] is behind it, we’re all in. And you can’t get a better actor than [Gleeson] to take on the mantle. He’s going to be so perfect for it.”

It gets even better: Krasinski said outright that if asked, he’d be ready to return to the series. When Extra asked about a potential return, he said “Done!” Krasinski went on to say it is as simple as just being asked. “If they ask me, I’m in.” So that’s a good thing for the Jim fans out there.

The Paper does have Oscar (Oscar Nuñez) being a part of the series and so we will see a familiar face in the new show and I hope that it doesn’t stop there! I love a good spin-off show. Technically Parks and Recreation was pitched as a spin-off before it became its own thing and so to have some of the OG Dunder Mifflin employees back on our television screens will be exciting. And hopefully Jim isn’t too far behind.
