I knew you had it in you, JLaw!

From Winter’s Bone, to The Hunger Games franchise, to American Hustle, and even to lighter fare like the more recent X-Men films, we’re used to seeing Jennifer Lawrence play characters in various states of emotional distress. However, this doesn’t seem to jibe with her personality, since she seems to be off-the-wall bonkers (in the best way) in real life! Well, now she seems to be taking an opportunity to showcase her more comedic side. After having met Amy Schumer a few months ago, they are now working on a comedy screenplay together, in which they both will star.

Lawrence revealed the news in a recent interview with The New York Times about Mockingjay, Part 2, saying:

We play sisters. We’re almost done writing. It just flowed out of us. We’ve got about 100 pages right now. Amy and I were creatively made for each other. We have different flavors. It’s been the most fun experience of my life. We start the day off on the phone, laughing. And then we send each other pages. And we crack up. I’m flying out tomorrow to see her in Chicago. We’ll write a little bit with her sister, Kim, who worked with Amy when she was writing Trainwreck.

Then, in true JLaw fashion, she texts Schumer during the interview to let her know that she spilled the beans. According to Variety:

“Let me just text Amy and tell her that I told you,” she said in the middle of the interview. “I wrote, ‘I just spilled the beans to The New York Times. Is that OK?’” she said. “And Amy wrote back, ‘That you’re gay? Totally! It’s exciting!’”

Excited-Jennifer-Lawrence

Oh, those two.

I’m actually really excited for what these ladies might be able to come up with together. What do you think? Does a Lawrence-Schumer joint sound like something you’d wanna go see?
