Ecuadorian conjoined twin influencers die at 27, after one twin has heart attack
RIP José Luis and José Armando.

Ecuadorian conjoined twin influencers, José Luis and José Armando Cevallos, who posted under the Instagram handle @siamesesdelecuador, have passed away at the age of 27. Born in Milagro in 1999, the pair shared an intestine, a liver, and a single pair of legs. They built a large following on both Instagram and TikTok, where they shared their daily lives and conversations.
According to their social media team, which posted the news about their death online, the pair died on October 15, 2026. The team thanked their followers for helping the twins achieve their dreams.
The twins had always been in the public eye
When the twins were born, they were reportedly given a life expectancy of only a year, but the two defied those odds (much like Michiel Vandeweert did). Separation surgery was considered when they were young, but ultimately decided against as it likely would have resulted in leaving only one surviving twin. Because of their unique disability, newspapers in the region followed them from childhood.
The government reportedly gave their family a house in 2008, and in 2011, Lenín Moreno, then Vice President of Ecuador, called the pair his godchildren. In 2017, José Luis and José Armando appeared on the Telemundo show Don Francisco te invita, and over the years they appeared in both local and international programming, including TLC’s Most Extreme Humans: On Your Side and the Spanish program Y Ahora Sonsoles.
They gained more exposure through social media and reportedly lived by the phrase, “Where there’s a will, there’s a way, and disability is no obstacle to being happy.”
A month before their deaths, the twins said something that is even more significant now
According to El Comercio, José Luis and José Armando gave an interview to Antena 3 in Spain about a month before their deaths and said something that has taken on new meaning now. The twins stated, “We were born together, we will die together.”
Reportedly, the events of their death involved José Luis experiencing a heart attack; while doctors allegedly revived him, José Armando later had a heart attack, and the pair died.
The post shared by the twins’ social media team read, translated from Spanish, “Their story, their smiles, and their outlook on life left an indelible mark on many hearts. We are comforted knowing that they were happy fulfilling their dreams and achieving goals that filled them with hope[…] Their legacy will live on in a phrase that always represented them: ‘Where there’s a will, there’s a way, and disability is no impediment to being happy.”
