Another Star Wars Fan Film to Add to Your To-Watch List [Video]
For A More Civilized Age
How many well-produced Star Wars fan films will it take until someone reboots the entire franchise? Well, this will probably never happen as long as George Lucas is alive, and something tells me that nothing will be able to rip Star Wars from even his cold, dead hands. But in the meantime, we can watch some really, genuinely, lovingly made fan films, like this one from Italian filmmaker Angelo Licata. Dark Resurrection: Volume 0 is a prequel to Licata’s 2007 effort, Dark Resurrection: Volume 1 (also on YouTube) and follows a group of Jedis, including the main protagonist, Master Sorran, who happen upon a mysterious abandoned ship, the Resurrection.
More information can be found at the films’ official site, but the official synopsis is after the jump.
Master Sorran, is obsessed by his search for an ancient civilization which, according to legend, holds the secret of immortality. After many years he lights upon the wreck of the civilisation’s most powerful starship: the Resurrection.
Sorran ignores the dangers and orders his crew to dock. The explorers and Sorran himself will face the mysteries of the Resurrection and the secret of the origins of the dark side.
Volume 0, Volume 0, in the original script written by Angelo Licata and Fabrizio Rizzolo, was only the prologue of Volume 2. After months of post-production, we realised that the material deserved to be properly developed as it tells interesting stories about the past of evil Lord Sorran and the mythology of Eron; fulcrum of the entire story.
And yes, there will be a Volume 2, and no, Mark Hamill is not involved with it.
