Logan marks Hugh Jackman’s final outing as Wolverine after 17 years and nine films with the beloved character. While Jackman is pretty set on hanging up his claws for good, there’s one thing that might make him think twice about saying goodbye—Deadpool.  As we’ve already seen, both Jackman and Ryan Reynolds are pretty keen on one another and can’t stop making jokes. Their fun relationship have given us great moments like Reynold crashing the Eddie the Eagle junket and this wonderful Instragram short. But how tempted is Jackman to actually follow through with it?

“I’m hesitating because I could totally see how that’s the perfect fit. But the timing may be wrong.” he told Variety. By wrong, I think he means that was never going to happen. But the thought of it, fueled by their friendly public jabs, is amusing. Even Reynolds, who is just as much of a troll has his red-masked character, is having a hard time letting go of that idea.

“I have no idea if I can change his mind,” Reynolds said. “It’s the audience: I would exclusively exploit that relationship to get Hugh back for another one.”

I think we’ve been exploited enough after it was rumored that  Deadpool would have a cameo in Logan. Sadly, that rumor turned out to be false. Still, I’m keeping my hopes up for a team up because hope is all I have to hold onto. Also, any plans for such a thing would have to be kept top secret lest we send the internet into a tizzy. For now, take solace in the fact that people can’t stop talking about this. Word of mouth made Deadpool happen. Maybe it can work for this, too.
