In Which We Make A Terrible Pun

Which costumed hero is D.C. optioning for a movie next? Could it be the long fabled Flash movie? With the Wonder Woman pilot cancelled, could they be bringing Adrianne Palicki instead to the big screen? Or perhaps is there a noir-ish Martian Manhunter flick in the making? The answer may surprise you. Coming from waaay out of left field, D.C. has begun searching for writers to helm a new Hawkman movie.

That’s right, Hawkman, the character with the most convoluted origin and history this side of Donna Troy. The logline for the movie claims that the film will be “Part Indiana Jones/Da Vinci Code, part Ghost,” which it seems will only complicates an already confusing premise. But on the flip side, we might get screwed and only get to see Shiera in flashbacks or in scenes where she simultaneously makes love to Carter, and molds an ashtray, while in a spectral form.

A Hawkman movie has the potential to be amazing. However, if the writers attempt to consolidate Hawkman and Hawkgirl’s vast array of origins, I have a feeling the final product is going to be a little…
