Thank You, Andy Serkis, For Allowing Us To Hear Gollum Say The F-Word

My Precious!

Andy Serkis has done a remarkable job portraying Gollum in Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings universe and has made quite the name for himself in motion-capture roles. There’s even been campaigns to get him nominated for an Academy Award. But while there are countless internet videos and memes making Gollum do or say very un-Gollum-like things, if you really want to get the job done, go directly to the source. At The Hobbit panel at Comic-Con, moderator Chris Hardwick asked the actor, after a very heart-felt speech, if he would say something in the Gollum voice. So he did. And it just happened to include a curse word. THE word. The “F dash, dash, dash” word. Give it a listen yourself (fast-foward to 22:40 if it doesn’t start where it should), and if you’re so inclined, watch the whole video for some great moments with the cast and crew.
