But we wanted dragons! *fumes*
Kidding, of course, because this series of tweets from George R.R. Martin is more than enough to make us happy. As he explained to his followers after the third day, this isn’t a countdown to the release date for The Winds of Winter or anything massive—it’s just something fun to traumatize delight his myriad of fans this holiday season. And I doubt it’s cutting into his writing time very much as he most likely had someone else create all these images for him, so I don’t want to see a single one of you nerds piping up with “stop tweeting and start writing” He hates that kind of a lot.
You know what George R.R. Martin also hates? When we briefly forget about the terrible things that happen in his books. Here are some festive reminders.

We know it’s only supposed to go on for 12 days but please never stop, Mr. Martin. It’s not like you’d ever run out of characters to make Christmas jokes about, after all. You have so many!
