When we first reported on Lucasfilm’s Strange Magic, starring Kristen Chenoweth and Alan Cumming, I was hopeful. After this first trailer though, I’m not quite sure how to feel. As a trailer, particularly for an animated feature geared towards kids, I think it fails. Of course that could mean absolutely nothing about the film but it comes across as a bit bland and generic to me.

Gary Rydstrom is directing, with George Lucas executive producing, the A Midsummer Night’s Dream-inspired musical (Marius de Vries of Moulin Rouge fame is the musical director and composer). Thoughts?
