West Texas provides the scenery for Due West, and the movie was shot on location. The Dallas International Film Festival played host to the film’s world premiere last year. Now, after snaring the Best Feature Film prize at the Burbank International Film Festival and El Paso Film Festival, the movie comes home.

“This film was made possible by the pure passion and grit of the cast and crew. More than any first time director could ask for.” says director and co-writer Evan Miller. “After seeing the reactions and conversations sparked in festival audiences across the country I am thrilled to be able to share it with a wider audience, and thankful for the wonderful home it has found at Cineverse.”

Luckily, we’ve got a detailed description of what to expect from Due West. This is a topical tale that is sure to leave you thinking!

“Driven to the brink by a broken medical system, a small-town woman undertakes a journey across the vast, unforgiving terrain of West Texas,” the description reads. “When her truck breaks down in the middle of nowhere, she is forced to navigate a series of encounters with strangers, facing both compassion and exploitation along the way.”

They continue, “As isolation deepens and her condition worsens, each mile raises the stakes and pushes her closer to a life-changing decision. With time running out and her options narrowing, she takes control of her future in the only way left to her. ”

Palicki has been a face in and around the Texas film scene for years now. And, she’s delighted for audiences to have the chance to enjoy this project at home. Along with that dynamite trailer, here are some thoughts from the leading lady.

“I’ve only been sure of two things in my life. The first, I knew I had to be an actor. The second, that I needed to be a part of Due West,” says Palicki. “When Evan brought me the script, I was absolutely blown away. Due West handles a difficult topic in a thoughtful way.”

“To see how many people have been touched by this film through the festival circuit, and how well received it has been, has blown me away,” she adds. “I’m so incredibly thankful to Cineverse for believing in our film. And, helping it be brought to a much wider audience. We can’t wait to share it with the world.”
