Does Inosuke die in Demon Slayer Season 2?

They better not ditch the best boy.

I am going to admit something very controversial upfront: Inosuke is essentially why I watch Demon Slayer. He’s weird and egotistic and hot-tempered and has a beautiful face, and therefore I love him very much. If Inosuke were to die, I would be incredibly upset. Season two, which depicts the Entertainment District Arc, was not kind to my best boy.

(Spoilers ahead!)

Inosuke kicks a lot of ass in this arc. Hell, we even find out he can dislocate all his joints and wiggle like a worm, no problem. Apparently, this flexibility extends to his internal organs, which will be important in a second. But the crowning moment of his achievements is when he epically slices off Daki’s head and makes a run for it—after all, she won’t die until her brother’s head is also sliced.

Unfortunately, Gyutaro spots Inosuke and stabs him right through where his heart should be with a sickle imbued with deadly poison. We later find out that the “harsh life in the mountains” taught Inosuke to move around his internal organs, as well as gave him an immunity to poison. However, this was partially some good old-fashioned Inosuke bravado. The combination of the poison and the blow—which fully went through his body—would’ve absolutely killed him. Luckily, Nezuko expels Gyutaro’s poison at the last possible second with her Demon Blood Art, saving Inosuke’s life.

So Inosuke ultimately lives to see another day. And I, therefore, am treated to another season of my best boy being impulsive and strange. And given time to ponder my opinions about Nezuko’s adult form.
