‘Do not Google your father’: Estranged son finds his father’s crime history. The supposed victim makes his jaw drop

Estranged son on TikTok searches for his father. He was not ready to find out what was in his father's criminal record.

The internet has no shortage of fathers who bought milk one day and never came back home, but the father of Cody Jacob (@imcodyjacob) walked out for a far more sinister reason. After one Google search, Cody told TikTok why his father has been away for more than a decade.

In a video titled “Do not Google your father,” Cody recalled a time he was searching the internet for his father’s obituary. He seemed excited to know whether the man had already passed.

“Every year, once a year, I google my father’s name. That’s because I’m searching for an obituary—he’s still alive, I think,” Cody explained. He says that he and his father are not in contact. But one day, to his surprise, his search finally yielded a result.

“Can you imagine my surprise after searching every year, once a year, for fifteen years—my father’s name—I suddenly find an arrest record?” At first, Cody didn’t give it too much thought. He was already suspicious, but surely, it couldn’t be for something violent or gruesome. Then, he found out that the arrest record was from 1998.

“This arrest record is for attempted homicide,” Cody reads. “This arrest is for the attempted homicide of me?”

Even Cody didn’t know how to react to the information. There are a lot of deadbeat fathers, but a father that actually wants their child dead is on a different level.

“Okay? I have a life to live,” he says, sliding his glasses back on. Some people are better off never getting to know their children after all. At first, TikTok was curious as to why Cody was estranged from his father. It turns out it wasn’t the usual case of growing apart and then being estranged—his father probably had to stay away from him, given his violent tendencies.

TikTok asks Cody how his father tried committing the crime

If this man is away from Cody, where is he? And how did he almost kill Cody?

In a follow-up video, Cody revealed that his father tried to kill him while he was two-years-old.

He explained, “He was a wealthy alcoholic, homicidal maniac who tried to kill my mother when she was pregnant with me. And then, I was born two months early on the Day of the Dead.”

This has to be one of the most brutal ways to enter the world. But he continues, “He then retained custody of me until I was eight. But that’s okay, because I escaped and went on to live with my mother.” Cody doesn’t exactly recall how his father killed him at two years old, but the man did almost cause his mother to miscarry. That makes two attempts on Cody’s life by his father.

Now that he’s free, shouldn’t this be a happily ever after for Cody and his mother? Not exactly, because Cody says that the domestic violence has taken a toll on his mother’s body.

Is Cody’s father in prison?

“But unfortunately, when my mother escaped, her wounds, and her issues, and her traumas were so severe from the domestic violence that she had already begun to die,” he grimly recalled. The beatings were so severe to the point that his mother had to have her pancreas removed. She would later die of brittle diabetes, and Cody believes that his father played a role in her contracting the disease.

It doesn’t look like Cody’s father is in prison either, as he didn’t mention it himself. But everything that man has done to his family explains why Cody’s waiting to dance on his grave. After this update, it looks like TikTok will be cheering Cody on.
