Ryan Reynolds Creates “For Your Consideration” Video, So Can We at Least Get Deadpool an Oscar Nomination?

Recommended Videos

As the Academy Awards approach, “For Your Consideration” advertising will begin to ramp up to a fever pitch, and no movie is above utilizing such tactics and techniques to gain the attention of Academy voters. Amongst those throwing their hat in the ring for Best Picture is Deadpool, and Ryan Reynolds is more than happy to do his part in making sure the voters are watching. Last night, he tweeted a “For Your Consideration” video showing off some of Deadpool‘s more memorable moments, all while listing out some truly funny statistics about what went into the creation of the movie.

These statistics include: three good walls (and a fourth that’s broken), 600 pounds of chimichangas, 456 ad libs (though the text says 465, but maybe that’s the joke), one leaked video, and 783 million fans. Of course there are plenty more, and really, it’s a super short video so you should watch it anyway.

I don’t know about you, but if I were an Academy voter, I’d definitely, uh… consider Deadpool. Yep. Uh-huh. Consider it alright. Oh, who am I kidding, I’d vote for it. But maybe that’s why I’m not an Academy voter.

Though if it does somehow manage to score a nomination, Reynolds has promised to make the announcement a real memorable moment:

Nice. Can we just get that anyway?
