CW President: Vixen “Hopefully” Coming to Live Action to Stay

Recommended Videos

The CW’s animated DC Comics Vixen series—a streaming-only show on CW Seed—has already been renewed for its second season, but the character and/or series could have a live action future.

With Megalyn Echikunwoke, who voices Vixen in the animated series, making a live action appearance on an upcoming episode of Arrow, maybe we’ll get lucky, and she’ll land a more permanent TV role in the near future. Making that seem even more likely is CW President Mark Pedowitz, who recently said at the Television Critics Association press tour, “Hopefully, [Vixen] could spin itself out. If not, maybe join as one of the Legends [of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow].”

Newsarama points out that’s a different tune than the one Pedowitz was singing in August, when he said The CW, which currently hosts ArrowThe Flash, iZombie, and the upcoming Legends of Tomorrow, doesn’t have room for any more DC Comics shows. That change of heart is encouraging, and we can’t wait to see what comes out of Echikunwoke’s debut on Arrow.
