Channing Tatum responds after internet sleuths claimed they found his burner account where he posts hate toward other celebrities.

A rumor claiming that Hollywood star Channing Tatum has a burner account on social media where he trash-talks other celebrities, including his exes and their partners, has gone viral online. In fact, the bizarre story has received so much attention that it’s made its way back to the man himself, who responded to the claims, denying it was him.

The rumor started after eagle-eyed fans spotted an account that had commented on posts relating to Tatum’s former fiancée Zoe Kravitz and her engagement to Harry Styles. The account, which went by “Nonya Bidness” on Instagram, left a series of comments that seemed rather specific: “When I see these two I think back at how her former fiancé called her the most intentional person he knows.” 

When asked to elaborate, Nonya said “intentional = calculated,” claiming that Kravitz was “constantly spotted with Harry,” compared to her ex, who she was seen with “far less.” Another comment on a post about Zoe and Harry reads, “Just here for the hate,” followed by laughing and popcorn emojis.

The account trolled other celebrities too; anonymous trolling is unfortunately rather common. One comment seemingly accused Tatum’s ex-wife, actress Jenna Dewan, of trying to “grift his money,” although not all comments were directed at people who are or once were close to Tatum. The apparent interest in his dating history led fans to suspect that the actor was behind the account. However, the real convincing piece of evidence was the fact that the account had one follower: Channing Tatum.

While the 46-year-old actor initially remained silent on the matter, he has since responded to the accusations. Shortly after fans noticed that Tatum was following the account, he mysteriously disappeared from the following list. Now the Magic Mike star has come forward to dispel the rumors that he has a burner account, reports The Sun.

“Yo, I truly can’t believe y’all think this is what I’m doing with my free time. F—in hilarious. Also, why would I follow a burner account if I didn’t want people to connect me to it?” Tatum wrote on Instagram. “Wtf come on. But if I really need to say it, I only have one IG account: @channingtatum.”

The supposed burner account has since been deactivated, but People speculated it may have originally been a Channing Tatum fan account which later rebranded. The actor reportedly follows many fan pages, which could also explain why he was following the account in the first place. The account owner also reportedly referenced their birthday as being in June; Tatum’s is in April. When asked by a follower if it was Tatum, the account also apparently responded, “I’m not him.”

But ultimately, who knows who was really behind the Nonya Bidness account? Tatum insists that it wasn’t him, and although it seems likely he’s telling the truth, stranger things have happened in the world of Hollywood.
