Miss the Camelopardalid Meteor Shower? This Animated GIF Is a Nice Consolation Prize

We were really looking forward to catching the Camelopardalid meteor shower Friday night. It had the potential to be a wonderful show, but it didn’t live up to its potential. Luckily photographer Gavin Heffernan was still able to get some beautiful shots including a wonderful GIF.

Heffernan’s sent us some great stuff in the past, but we’re particularly excited about these pictures, because a cloudy night in the Northeast kept us from seeing any meteors at all during the Camelopardalid shower.
