Six days ago, TikTok user @wendyymak from California posted a video about how she embarrassed herself in front of a massage therapist while at a spa during her friend’s bachelorette party. Upon reflection, Wendy’s embarrassing story is somewhat understandable because, as she mentions at the start, she hasn’t had many massages in her life, so it’s natural she wouldn’t know what to expect. So, what exactly happened that caused Wendy so much embarrassment? Keep reading to find out.

TikTok user @wendyymak has an embarrassing story from the time she got a massage

If you ask me, massages or spas are already pretty weird because you’re technically naked in front of a stranger. But beyond that, there are many more strange things that can happen, leaving a lasting impression on people’s minds. For TikTok user @wendyymak, it was the same. As mentioned earlier, she wasn’t someone who got many massages, so she wasn’t fully aware of how things worked there.

In a video she posted six days ago, Wendy shared that she went for a massage during a friend’s bachelorette trip a few months ago. She also mentioned that the massage therapist was using “a lot” of oil, so much that she believed she could “slip and slide on gravel.” After her massage, the therapist told Wendy to go and stretch. Once the therapist left the room and closed the door, Wendy started to stretch. She then recalls that a few minutes had passed, and she was dripping in oil. Later, she heard a knock on the door, and she allowed the person to come in. As soon as that person saw Wendy, her face dropped in confusion. Recognizing the reaction, Wendy quickly realized that the therapist had told her to get dressed, not stretch. She then tried to explain that she had misheard and thought she was supposed to stretch instead of get dressed. Immediately afterward, she tried to get off the bed while still naked and covered in oil. She slipped on the floor and fell. Talking about the incident, Andy said, “I made a ruckus in there.” After falling, Andy dressed up quickly and felt too embarrassed to make eye contact with the therapist because of what had just happened.

TikTok users are loving @wendyymak’s massage story

@wendyymak’s video recounting how she mistook the word “dressed” for “stretch” during a massage session is gaining significant traction on TikTok. Many people are supporting Wendy, emphasizing that she was not at fault. User @alliegerber commented, “They are “supposed” to take off all the oil with a warm towel! It’s not your fault.” User @lesleyc9 added, “honestly not your fault when a massage therapist puts oil on your feet, they should be drying them off for you before leaving.”

Many also shared their own embarrassing stories under @wendyymak’s story comments. User @skyydawn12 said, “One time the dentist asked me “how is your day?” And I heard “what’d you eat today” and I said toast.” User @g.vail shared, “Dude I had the same thing happen I thought mine said “get some rest” and I just laid there for 30 minutes before she came back to check on me.”

How frequently should one get a massage?

In an era where self-care is highly emphasized, massages can be a valuable addition to that routine. However, massages are not merely something you do because they are popular or seem luxurious; they actually offer numerous health benefits.

According to an article published by A Touch of Serenity on September 20, 2025, regular massages can help improve blood circulation, strengthen the immune system, enhance sleep quality, relieve muscle tension, and promote mental clarity. When practiced regularly, over time, they can help reduce chronic pain, prevent injuries, and support emotional stability.
